Launching Charlie Bear’s 2026 Collection
The Brief:
Charlie Bears is one of the UK's most beloved collectable bear brands, known for the extraordinary craftsmanship, character, and warmth that goes into every bear they create. Each year their new collection launch is a major moment for collectors around the world, and 2026 was no different.
The brief was to produce a launch film that could carry the weight of that moment, something that captured the detail and personality of the new collection, felt true to the Charlie Bears world, and worked both as a live YouTube premiere event and as a polished standalone piece of evergreen content.
Production:
Working with client Gaby Arthur and camera assistant Magda Gaik, using existing footage from John Hersey, we built a production designed from the ground up to serve three purposes simultaneously, a live event experience for the YouTube premiere, teasers to be drip-fed before the launch and a finished brand film that would continue working long after launch day.
The teasers shoot focused on Charlie herself, as she tiptoes through the halls of the Headland Hotel trying to find hidden bears. The studio component of the shoot focused on the bears themselves, the craftsmanship, the detail, the character that makes each one feel individual, woven together with footage that captured the emotion and anticipation that Charlie Bears collectors bring to every new release. John Hersey's photography and additional footage added texture and warmth throughout the final edit.
Impact:
The 2026 collection launch film drew 12,000 views on the YouTube live premiere, bringing the Charlie Bears community together at the moment that matters most and giving the new collection the send-off it deserved.
